The Secret of Forcing Your Ads to Give Results

9 Nov 2024

The easiest way to make successful ads is simple: create an offer that is impossible to resist

But there’s a hidden mistake not a lot of people know about that’s secretly eating away at their ads results, killing their sales.

It’s called “High Threshold Marketing,” or HTM.

HTM means that it takes a lot of effort for people to say yes to your ad. Like a hurdle, or a barrier.

At the end of every ad, we have to make people DO something. The problem is, most ads make people do the wrong thing.

Don’t do this with your offers:

“hop on a 4 hour zoom call with somebody you don’t know. Then we’ll send you 300 pieces of mail and 24,000 emails followed by an in-person visit!”

They’ve known you for 8 seconds. They’re not interested in all of that.

Make it eeeassyy for them to say yes by offering something much easier to do.

Instead of giving them life-long trauma, have them fill out a form instead. Maybe have them send you a text.

Let’s switch gears to dating for a second.

We wouldn’t tell some random girl on the street that you should get married to her.

She would slap you in the face for that.

You don’t ask for marriage, you start small. You’d probably ask for her number instead.

The same goes for business. You don’t ask them to buy instantly, have them do something simple, like fill out a form instead.

Let’s say I own a pool building company

Which are you more likely to do: Give $9000 to somebody you just met? Or filling out a form for a free guide on how to choose the best pool for you.

Seems obvious right? Filling out a form isn’t too hard.

The secret is making sure the threshold is as low as possible.

If the bar is super low, they’re going to take the bait. We can reel them in with another piece of content in the future.

It’s MUCH easier for someone to do something harder, like give you a call, AFTER they’ve taken the bait with easy stuff, like a free eBook.

Ad -> Buy is one of the worst methods you can do for your ads.

Do something this instead:

Ad -> Second Ad -> Video -> Email - > Phone Call -> in person meetup - > Buy

It doesn’t have to be exactly like that, but you get the point.

It might take longer for them to become a client, but it’s much more effective than HTM.

Try this out in your marketing and see if it works.
